Update: September 2026
Dear DFK supporters,
It's hard to believe that September is already here and another school year is beginning! As students around the world head back to the classroom, we're reflecting on how quickly our students in Tanzania are growing, learning, and building their futures.

HELP US KICK OFF OUR 2027 CAMPAIGN
Today, we’re kicking off a one-week fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $10,000 toward tuition and educational costs for our students in 2027.
To celebrate the campaign, Cari will be hiking Smutwood Mountain this month, and we’d love for you to follow along and be part of the journey. Whether you donate, share our campaign, or simply cheer us on, there’s a place for everyone in this effort.
FOLLOW ALONG AND DONATE
For one week, we're asking our Dreaming For Kids community to come together to help ensure our students can continue their education in the year ahead. Every donation, share, and conversation helps us get closer to our goal.
Our goal: $10,000 in one week. We hope you'll help us make it happen.
INTRODUCING THE UBORA PROGRAM
This fall, Dreaming For Kids is launching the Ubora Program, named after the Swahili phrase “Ubora wa Hali ya Juu,”meaning excellence.
Over the years, we’ve watched our students dream bigger than we ever imagined. Many aspire to careers as tourism professionals, teachers, doctors, pharmacists, and engineers. While our sponsorship program supports secondary school and a first post-secondary program, some career paths require additional training beyond that before students can qualify.
Ubora will help bridge that gap, providing additional educational support to exceptional students who need further training to reach their career goals.
Janeth is a perfect example. After graduating from pharmaceutical college last fall, she is hoping to attend university this year—the next step beyond what her original sponsorship covered. If her plans come together, she may become Ubora’s very first recipient.
LOOKING AHEAD: ABDULLAH & NAIMA
As they prepare to graduate this fall, we’re excited to celebrate Abdullah and Naima, who are completing Form 4 at Winning Spirit Secondary School. Both students have their sights set on becoming entrepreneurs, and we’re proud of the hard work they are putting into this important final year of secondary school.

Graduation will mark an important milestone for Abdullah and Naima—and the beginning of an exciting new chapter as they pursue their dreams. We can’t wait to see where their ambition and determination take them next.
CELEBRATING OUR STUDENTS
Last October, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our 2025 Form 4 students: Gift, Godbless, Johnson, Ahmed, Careen, Luciana, Salha, and Shadya.
Nearly a year later, it’s exciting to see their journeys beginning to take shape:
- Gift is continuing his education at Enaboishu, working toward Form 5 and 6 and his dream of becoming a doctor.
- Godbless, Johnson, and Ahmed are continuing their Form 5 education at Winning Spirit.
- Salha is exploring college options with an eye toward a career in healthcare, while Luciana is preparing to pursue a diploma in pharmacy. Both are finalizing their plans for the year ahead.
- Careen and Shadya, like many students at this stage, are still deciding on the right path forward. We’re glad to be able to support them as those plans come together.

BEYOND GRADUATION
Our students’ journeys don’t end with secondary school. Beyond our 2025 graduates, our alumni continue to build remarkable futures:
- Nusra and Aloisi are hard at work in university, studying teaching and engineering respectively.
- Rachel will graduate later this year and hopes to join her friends as a tour guide in Tanzania’s growing tourism industry.
- Living is enjoying his first year of university studying Tourism and Hospitality, with a hotel internship this fall as he gains hands-on experience in the industry.
- Wilfred, Amri, Mohamed, and Prisca are already sharing the beauty of Tanzania with visitors as professional tour guides.
Every one of these accomplishments represents years of hard work, resilience, and a community of supporters who believed in these students.
Our September campaign will help provide the foundation for their next chapter—funding tuition and educational costs for the 2027 school year so that, whatever path each student ultimately chooses, the support is there when they need it.
