When Nusra joined Dreaming For Kids in 2017, she was a young student with a dream of continuing her education and building a bright future. Over the years, she has demonstrated determination, resilience, and a strong commitment to her studies.

Today, Nusra is pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher, a profession that will allow her to inspire and support future generations of students in Tanzania.

Education Milestones

A Special Memory from 2023

In 2023, Dreaming For Kids had the opportunity to return to Tanzania and reconnect with many of the students and families whose journeys we have followed over the years.

While we had hoped to spend time with Nusra during our visit, she was busy completing her Form 6 studies and preparing for her final examinations. Her school is a 9-hour drive back to Arusha. Although we missed seeing her, we were proud to know she was focused on achieving her educational goals.

During our visit, we met with Nusra's mother, “Auntie” Fatuma, who works at Good Hope Orphanage and Primary School. At the time, Nusra had not yet received her examination results, and everyone was eagerly waiting to learn whether she would qualify for university.

Her mother spoke with immense pride about how hard Nusra had worked throughout her education. She shared her hope that Nusra would be accepted into university and have the opportunity to pursue her dreams. She was also deeply grateful for the support Dreaming For Kids had provided over the years, helping make that dream possible. It was an emotional afternoon with many happy tears, which is why we do the work we do.

Today, it is incredibly rewarding to see that hope become reality.

Following Her Passion

Nusra is currently completing her second year at the University of Dar es Salaam and is studying hard as she enters the final semester of the academic year.

One of the highlights of her program has been her teaching practicum. She has greatly enjoyed spending time with students in the classroom and gaining hands-on experience as an educator. These experiences have strengthened her passion for teaching and reinforced her desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.

A Dream Becoming Reality

Just a few years ago, Nusra and her family were waiting and hoping for the opportunity to continue her education at the university level.

Today, she is thriving at the University of Dar es Salaam and is well on her way to achieving her goal of becoming a teacher. Through hard work, perseverance, and the support of sponsors, Nusra has continued to move forward one step at a time, building the knowledge and skills that will enable her to impact future generations.
