A Story That Began at Good Hope

Gift (affectionately called Gifty)’s journey with Dreaming For Kids began long before he officially became a sponsored student.

When Dreaming For Kids (Talia, Director) first met Gift in 2012, he was just three years old. Living at Good Hope Orphanage, Gift loved spending time with our volunteers. Whether he was reading books, asking questions, or simply enjoying conversations, his bright personality and curiosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Watching him grow over the years has been one of the many privileges of being part of the Dreaming For Kids community.

A Special Memory from 2023

Returning to Tanzania in 2023 allowed us to reconnect with many of the children we had first met years earlier.

Seeing Gift again was incredibly special. It was amazing to witness how much he had grown since the curious four‑year‑old who loved reading with volunteers at Good Hope.

Although we weren’t able to reunite with both Gift and his brother, Aloisi, during our visit, we were grateful to spend time with Gift and hear about his studies, goals, and dreams for the future. His determination and maturity were evident, and it was inspiring to see the young boy we first met developing into a confident young man.

Looking Toward the Future

Last fall, Gift celebrated an important milestone by graduating from Form 4 alongside the other students in Dreaming For Kids’ Cohort 2.

He now continues his education at Enaboishu Secondary School, where he plans to complete his Advanced Level (Form 5 and Form 6) studies.

Gift dreams of one day becoming a doctor—a goal that reflects both his dedication to learning and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others. With each new opportunity, he continues to move one step closer to achieving that dream.

Why This Matters

Gift’s story reminds us that the impact of sponsorship often begins long before a student enters the program.

From a curious little boy playing with volunteers at Good Hope Orphanage to a secondary school graduate aspiring to become a doctor, Gift’s journey reflects the power of consistent encouragement, education, and opportunity.

Because of your continued support, students like Gift can continue to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Looking Ahead

As Gift prepares for the next chapter of his education, we are excited to continue cheering him on. We look forward to watching him grow, pursue his dream of becoming a doctor, and continue inspiring those around him.

💛 Thank you for being part of Gift’s journey.
