Thanks to your support, DFK is sponsoring two new graduates of Good Hope Primary School and Orphanage: Naima and Abdullah, who entered Form 1 at Winning Spirit Secondary School this month. They join the other eight members of the second cohort of students. On Giving Tuesday, in November, we raised $520 towards this year’s tuition for one of the other members of that cohort, Luciana.

The first cohort of students continues to excel. Rachel is in Form 3 at Winning Spirit and Nusura has completed one semester of her A-levels at Bwiru Girls Secondary School.

Living and Mohammed completed their arduous Form 4 exams in November. They will receive their results this summer and then decide whether to study for their A-levels or to attend college. We look forward to supporting their academic and professional pursuits.

Aloisi has now completed his A-levels and is on his way to becoming a mechanical engineer. We are proud of his accomplishments and have high hopes for his future.

Wilfred and Amiri are in the first year of their tourist program. They love being immersed in the scenery of their home country. With the Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is a top-notch destination, so tourism makes for a prosperous and fulfilling career.

Janeth is in her second year at Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences. She is well on her way to becoming a pharmacist, as we detailed in the fall newsletter.

Spotlight on Amiri

Amiri was one of our first sponsorship recipients. He told us about his experience studying tourism in college:

“The reason why I have chosen tourism is because tourism is a unique way of learning from other countries' cultures. I want people from different places to experience my country Tanzania especially about how people live in Tanzania and its attraction such as wildlife mountain Kilimanjaro famous as the roof of Africa, the maasai tribe; the most famous tribe in the world because of how they are strongly bonded with their culture and so many other tribes and different attractions found in Tanzania. This career means a lot to me because it is the easiest and most enjoyable thing that I can get paid for as my future job and I really like it. I am really proud to be in the tourism industry, more than anything else and I will use all my energy to make things work.Thank you so much Dreaming For Kids for the financial help you have provided. God bless you, love you all so much”.

Janeth In Pharmaceutical School

We asked Janeth’s why she is in pharmaceutical school:

"My favourite class is pharmacology because I get to know a lot of medicines and how they work. I also volunteer in Morogoro referral hospital in Morogoro. When it’s time for vacation I usually write a letter to one of the hospitals so that I can go there to practice what I have been doing at school and I really enjoy doing it."
